Samantha Barks announces she is ENGAGED to Alex Stoll after American actor pops the question on a bridge during a snowy woodland walk
Samantha Barks has announced she is engaged to American actor Alex Stoll after two years of dating.
The Les Misérables actress, 30, revealed the news on Instagram on Tuesday, while Alex shared a snap of the proposal- in which he was on one knee on a snow-dusted stone bridge.
Samantha and Alex first met when she played the lead in Pretty Woman on Broadway, with Alex in the ensemble cast.

The actor appeared to have popped the question when it snowed last week.
Samantha showed off her diamond engagement ring in a photo taken shortly after the proposal, with the pair posing against a snowy woodland backdrop.
She captioned the post: ‘Like Beyonce… but with an F.’

A host of Samantha’s celebrity pals took to the comment section to congratulate her of the engagement.
Sheridan Smith wrote: ‘Congratulations lovely!’, while Pixie Lott chimed: ‘Congratulations!!!!’.
Daisy Lowe added: ‘Congratulations gorgeous woman!! So happy for you.’

Samantha first hit the scene in the BBC talent show I’d Do Anything in 2008, and went on to play Éponine in the West End, which she reprised in the 2012 Oscar-winning movie of the same name.
In 2019, she was cast as Elsa in the West End production of Frozen but the coronavirus pandemic has caused the musical’s opening to be postponed.
Bookings were recently halted and those who had already bought tickets to see the show in April or May have had them moved to an as-yet confirmed later date.

While a new opening date is yet to be confirmed, production chiefs said: ‘We cannot wait to share this magical production with you at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane as soon as possible.’
Samantha has had several high-profile romances during her time in the public eye.
The actress was previously in a relationship with fellow actor Jack Fox in 2016 but the couple split a year later.
Jack is Laurence Fox’s younger brother and has starred in sitcoms such as Fresh Meat and Sanditon.
Samantha also dated former Coronation Street star Richard Fleeshman in 2013.
