Tamara Ecclestone discusses father Bernie having another baby aged 89, branding him a ‘young soul’

Her father Bernie recently announced that he is set to have another baby, aged 89, as he and wife Fabiana Flosi are expecting their first child together.

And, Tamara Ecclestone, 35, discussed father’s unexpected baby news, branding him a ‘young soul and amazing energy’ during an appearance with husband Jay Rutland, 39, on This Morning on Tuesday.

The Formula One heiress and her art gallery director husband were on the ITV show to talk about their charity exhibition Art For Heroes, raising money for NHS staff, when she spoke briefly about her dad Bernie announcing his wife’s pregnancy.

This Morning host Eamonn Holmes joked that her father is ‘more or less 258 years old,’ before Tamara explained how daughter Sophia, nicknamed Fifi, predicted the pregnancy.

She said: ‘Well Fifi actually predicted the pregnancy before it was on our radar.  When my dad and his wife announced the pregnancy we were so happy for them!’ 

Speaking in isolation from her London home, Tamara added: ‘He’s a young soul and an amazing energy, and with what’s going on some baby news is good news.’ 

It was revealed ljust weeks ago that former Formula One boss Bernie is expecting his first son with his third wife, Brazilian marketing director Fabiana.

Bernie already has three daughters, Deborah, 65, from his first marriage to Ivy Bamford and Tamara and Petra, 31, who he shares with his second wife, Slavica Radić.  

Talking about the charity Art For Hoeoes while on This Morning, Jay said: ‘About two or three weeks ago I got a call from my friend Joe Cole and his wife Carly and they became ambassadors for Heroes… 

‘Tamara and I spoke about how we can help. Heroes is a charity set up by entrepreneurs with sole purpose of supporting frontline doctors…

‘Tamara and I spoke about it and I spoke to some of Maddox’s artists and what was brilliant was the reaction from the artists was so generous and they agreed to donate one piece each.

‘Every single penny is donated to the charity, aside from buying the art you can also donate.’ 

Tamara revealed: ‘The goal we had in mind was a million and so far is £666,000,’ with Jay adding: ‘Lots of people have been buying, certainly Joe is an ambassador and he’s a footballer, and they have been buying.

‘It’s helping doctors, it’s buying PPE equipment helping NHS staff get emergency childcare… it’s really brilliant.’

Asked if they would do more, Jay confirmed: ‘Yeah, that’s the plan, it’s ongoing. Originally there were 42 pieces of art donated, 32 have sold.

‘Phase two starts next week with the image there by David Yarrow and the graphic of our pride was added after, it’s quite symbolic.

‘I like everyone else has felt so grateful to the NHS. They’re going to work everyday. You can go online, you can view the artworks and buy art from the website.’
