Man is arrested for murdering woman, 45, in Merseyside after she was found injured and later died

Man, 47, is arrested for murdering woman, 45, who died in hospital after being found ‘bleeding heavily from neck injury’ at house on Merseyside

  • A man, who is said to have known the woman, was held on suspicion of murder 

A murder investigation is ongoing after a woman was found fatally injured in a street last night.   

Emergency services arrived at Moorland Road, Maghull, Merseyside, at around 9:20pm on August 15 following a report of concern for a 45-year-old woman.  

She is believed to have collapsed on the driveway of a home and was reported to be bleeding heavily from a neck injury.

Locals rushed outside and attempted to give the woman CPR according to the Liverpool Echo. 

Paramedics arrived at the scene and took the woman to hospital, where she later died. 

A 47-year-old man, who is believed to have known the woman, was held on suspicion of murder.   

Police will be going door-to-door over the course of the weekend to investigate the circumstances of the incident.  

A spokeswoman for Merseyside Police said: ‘Specialist officers are supporting her relatives at this difficult time.

‘Investigations are ongoing into the full circumstances, and forensic analysis as well as house-to-house inquiries will likely continue throughout the weekend.’
