Married At First Sight’s Martha Kalifatidis admits her ‘work-life balance isn’t the healthiest’

Since appearing on Married At First Sight two years ago, Martha Kalifatidis’ humble life as a makeup artist has completely changed.

The reality star, 32, now spends her days sharing sponsored posts on Instagram, and brands are willing to pay her thousands of dollars just to feature on her account.

But despite the obvious perks of being her own boss, Martha told Who Magazine this week her new career has its own set of challenges.

‘My work-life balance isn’t the healthiest right now,’ she said.

However, there’s a positive side to her hectic, with Martha admitting: ‘But funnily enough, I thrive living like this.’

She also discussed her role as a ‘real’ beauty ambassador, who doesn’t lie to her followers about filters and cosmetic procedures.

‘I’ve been criticised for having had plastic surgery and being so open about it. The way I define “real” is the ability to be  transparent and authentic,’ she said.

‘Everyone is over seeing these perfectly curated, beige feeds, perfect bodies and skin that is blemish and dimple free.

‘We want to see ambassadors who looks like us, our friends and our peers.’

Earlier this year, Martha’s boyfriend Michael Brunelli, 30, revealed she was the ‘breadwinner’ in their relationship. 

‘Martha makes more money than me and I’m f**king proud of her!’ he said during an Instagram Q&A.

‘She has worked her a** off to get where she is today and it’s only just the beginning.’

‘Any guy who has an issue with his partner making more than he does gives off serious small d**k energy.’

Martha and Michael, a former teacher-turned-fitness entrepreneur, met on the 2019 season of Married At First Sight, and are one of the show’s few success stories.
