MAFS’s Joanne Todd threatens to destroy Johnny Balbuziente and Kerry Knight’s wedding

Married At First Sight’s Joanne Todd threatens to derail new couple Johnny Balbuziente and Kerry Knight’s wedding with bitter outburst

Joanne Todd and James Susler’s relationship dramas threatened to derail the wedding of another bride and groom on Monday’s episode of Married At First Sight.

Sitting at Johnny Balbuziente and Kerry Knight’s wedding reception, Joanne, 39, couldn’t resist making a cutting comment about her own relationship with James.

As they enjoyed their wedding reception, Johnny and Kerry, both 30, couldn’t help but notice the show’s other brides and grooms were all staring at them.

‘You guys make a good couple,’ explained a smiling James, 44.

His remark prompted jilted bride Joanne to add: ‘From the outside, yeah.’

Joanne’s comment left everyone within earshot gobsmacked, including Kerry, who sat with her mouth wide open.

‘You’ll be happy for the first five days and then the rollercoaster will begin,’ Joanne continued, despite James’ pleas for her to ‘shut up’.

Clearly rattled, both Johnny and Kerry shifted uncomfortably in their seats, unsure of what to say next.

‘Well, this is awkward…’ Johnny finally said, breaking the tense silence.

The other brides and grooms all seemed incredulous, with James pulling Joanne up on her remark.

‘You’ll be good for five days? We were good for 10 days,’ he told her.

Fellow bride Melissa Rawson urged Joanne to ‘just simmer down’, as she traded furious looks with James across the table.

Desperate to reassure his new bride, Johnny told Kerry: ‘You don’t ever have to worry about that. I would never throw someone under the bus like that.’

Added Kerry: ‘That’s good to know… I’m not a very dramatic person. I’m a fixer.’

Back at the guest table, Bryce Ruthven asked James and Joanne why they weren’t wearing their wedding rings.

‘Because I mean nothing to him,’ said Joanne through a tight smile as she took a sip of her drink.

Despite James claiming he had no memory of ever saying anything to that effect, Joanne reminded him they had been his last words to her.

She then asked James if he regretted marrying her, and after pausing for a moment, he said: ‘No, I don’t regret it. At all.’
