His father Richard Wilkins has enjoyed a very colourful love life over the years.

Hopeless romantic! Christian Wilkins, 25, has revealed why he has never been in a relationship

‘I have never been in a relationship. I am a bit of a hopeless romantic,’ he told the publication ahead of Mardi Gras weekend.

‘There were periods of my life when I was quite upset about not being in one, but despite everything, 2020 was a period of self-discovery for me,’ he added.

Christian has been forging a career as a TV star over the past couple of years, including filming a new series for Stan.

‘I did Dancing with the Stars and filmed my first acting role in Eden, which was great,’ he said.

‘I don’t have a lot of close friends, but the few I do have, we have such intense love for each other. I feel just as rewarded from their companionship as I would from a relationship.’

The openly gay star also revealed that his first kiss actually took place in a fleeting moment during Mardi Gras at age 16, with a Frenchman he didn’t know at the time.

‘I never even ‘came out’ because it was never this expectation that I was straight until I was gay,’ he added.

‘It was just “be who you are”.’
