Fans go wild as beloved 1990s puppet Agro appears on Holey Moley – with many pleading for his children’s show Cartoon Connection to return to air

Fans tuning into Channel Seven’s new mini golf based reality show, Holey Moley, got a treat on Tuesday night. 

The night’s surprise guest was none other than beloved puppet Agro, who popped up as a ‘distraction’ on the course. 

Operated by comedian and voice artist Jamie Dunn, Agro came to fame starring children’s morning show, Cartoon Connection, between 1989 and 1997.

Viewers were absolutely delighted – and many hoped it meant that Cartoon Connection could make a comeback. 

One person Tweeted: ‘We’ve missed ya Mate! Welcome back dear friend from our childhood.’

Another fan watching at home chimed in: ‘Revive Agro’s Cartoon Connection for 2021 official campaign’.

One even said they would simply switch off the show after Agro’s appearance, writing: ‘Okay so we’ve seen Agro as the distraction. No need to watch anymore’. 

Someone else who appeared delighted with the puppet’s cameo Tweeted: ‘Return of the cartoon king! Agro is back!’

However not everyone was impressed, with one viewer writing:  ‘Seriously? Agro? Could #HoleyMoleyAU be any more s**t?’
