Natalie Zea’s show La Brea is picked up by NBC

Natalie Zea has been a standout with Walt Goggins in the comedy The Unicorn this season.

But in the fall the blonde beauty will be heading to NBC to star in the new series La Brea, about a family that falls into a sinkhole which causes them to time travel.

The announcement was made on Tuesday as NBC shared its primetime lineup for the 2021-22 TV season.

Also picked up are the comedies American Auto and Grand Crew, TVLine has learned.

In La Brea, Natalie Zea stars as a mom who falls through a sink hole in Los Angeles.

She ends up in another time in history with her son by her side, but her husband ad daughter go to another era.

‘When part of the family find themselves in an unexplainable primeval world, alongside a disparate group of strangers, they must work to survive and uncover the mystery of where they are and if there is a way back home,’ NBC said. 

Zea is best known for her comedy The Detour with Jason Jones. She has also played Timothy Olyphant’s ex wife in Justified and worked with Kevin Bacon on The Following, David Duchovny on Californication and Donald Sutherland on Dirty Sexy Money.

And she popped up with Rob Lowe in 9-1-1 Lone Star in 2020. 

The former fashion model got her start on the soap opera Passions with Travis Schuldt, who is now her husband. 

Another NBC show is American Auto, which is from Superstore EP Justin Spitzer.

The series is set at the Detroit headquarters of a big American car company.

NBC said the show revolves around ‘a floundering group of executives try to rediscover the company identity amidst a rapidly changing industry.’  

Ana Gasteyer is the star with Barinholtz, Harriet Dyer, Humphrey Ker, Michael B. Washington, Tye White and X Mayo. 

And Grand Crew stars Echo Kellum from Arrow and Nicole Byer from Nailed It! 

Justin Cunningham, Carl Tart and Aaron Jennings are also involved.

The show is about a group of pals who work at a wine bar.
