Bachelor alum Lauren Bushnell ‘prayed every day for months’ after fearing she couldn’t get pregnant

She’s expecting her first child with her country music star husband Chris Lane.

But Lauren Bushnell has gone public with her fear that she wouldn’t be able to get pregnant after the couple tried for several months without success.

‘I couldn’t help but compare my situation with those of my friends who it happened very easily for, a lot of the time unplanned. Mentally, this was a really hard part of the journey,’ the former Bachelor contestant wrote on her blog.

Anxiety: Lauren Bushnell, who’s expecting her first child with husband Chris Lane, feared she wouldn’t be able to get pregnant after the couple tried for several months without success

Lauren, 30, who celebrated her first wedding anniversary back on October 25, explained that she had stopped using birth control in March but by July, she still wasn’t pregnant.

‘As a woman, I assumed there was something wrong with me,’ she said.

So she started to use ovulation strips and at-home progesterone tests and three months later, in September, she discovered she was expecting.

But despite the joy, she wrote on her blog that she still felt anxious.

After so many let downs, negative tests, and knowing my mom had miscarriages between all 4 children, I couldn’t help but be cautious. I hate that my anxiety robbed the joy of that first positive test, but as time went on, and especially after my first doctor appointment, I was finally able to let go of my anxiety,’ she shared.

‘The whole process really opened my eyes to the struggle that many women and families face,’ she went on.

‘Pregnancy truly is a miracle and I’ll never take that for granted. We prayed every day for months and obviously our prayer was answered, but I know there are a lot of unanswered prayers out there.’

The former reality star, who won Ben Higgins’ heart on season 20 of The Bachelor , announced her pregnancy in early December, posting video of her ultrasound to Instagram.

Chris, 36, shared the same clip and wrote: ‘Prayer works! Hope you look like your Mama.’
