Comedian Peter Helliar pays tribute to his ‘funny’ and ‘kind’ son Aidan Jack on his 16th birthday

Peter Helliar gave his son Aidan Jack a sweet shoutout on Instagram on Monday for his 16th birthday.

The 45-year-old comedian shared a series of photos of his teenage son over the years, and included a heartfelt caption.  

‘Aidan Jack turned 16 today. The years have flown with this kid. Funny, kind, generous, thoughtful, smart, strong and loyal,’ he began. 

‘Can’t wait to see what the future holds for you mate. Love ya. Hope we catch some fish up the river in the new year!’

Peter’s wife of 19 years, Bridget Helliar, also paid tribute to the couple’s middle son on her respective Instagram.  

‘Aidan Jack is 16 today! He is an awesome kid, even though we’ll never win an argument against him, we love him to bits,’ she wrote. 

She added the hashtag: ‘#futurelawyer’.

In addition to Aidan, Peter and Bridget are also parents to sons Liam, 18, and Oscar, 12.

Speaking to Kidspot podcast The Juggling Act in November 2017, Peter said the most important thing he could teach his kids is to be respectful towards women.  

‘I think it is important for us to teach our boys, you don’t have to like every girl you meet but you have to respect them,’ he said.

‘They seem like they’re following that piece of advice.’

Pete said he’s also advised his kids to ‘find what you love and build your life around it’.
