‘You inspire me more than you know’: Martine McCutcheon pays an emotional tribute to husband Jack McManus as couple celebrate the 14th anniversary of their first meeting

Martine McCutcheon paid tribute to husband and ‘best friend’ Jack McManus on Monday as the couple celebrated the 14th anniversary of their first meeting.

Taking to Instagram, former EastEnders star Martine, 44, shared a handful of images documenting her rock solid relationship with the 36-year old musician and producer, who she married in 2012.

Captioning the photos, she wrote: ’14 years ago I met you @jackmcnanus1. The 21st of December was a game changer for sure! We instantly knew we would be in each others lives & my goodness, the last 14 years have been eventful! We have weathered many storms but I know you were sent to me to get me through them and vice Versa.

‘We are now so blessed, grateful and happy and you never, ever, gave up on anything. Mostly, you never gave up on me… & I needed that more than you will ever know. Your quiet strength and resilience astounds me.’

The actress, who raises five-year old son Rafferty with Jack, added: ‘I’m so proud to call you my husband, the best dad ever (you really are) and my partner in crime.

‘You inspire me more than you know and despite being riddled with talent, you are the most humble gent in the industry I’ve ever met! I’m so lucky you are the role model to the little love of our lives – Rafferty and also, that I get to call you my best friend.

In December 2016, during an appearance on Loose Women, Martine admitted her friends had helped ‘save’ her marriage to Jack.

She said: ‘I think actually my friends have saved my relationship a couple of times! There have been times without a doubt – I’ve been with Jack ten years now and of course we’ve had or ups and downs – a tough eight years out of ten bless him.

‘But through the trials and tribulations, I think my friends – when I feel I can’t get through to him – have made me see sense.

‘They’ve been like “calm down, you really love him, you two are meant to be together, stick at it”. Nowadays more than ever people just chuck in the towel – everything’s so disposable now.’
