Shazam! starring Zachary Levi was released last year, and a sequel to that film is in the works.

It is believed that Dwayne’s Black Adam standalone will come out first, and then Shazam! 2 (currently titled Shazam! Fury of the Gods) will see the pair of DC heavyweights battle it out in 2023.

Black Adam is being directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, who also helmed the Johnson-starring Disney movie Jungle Cruise, to be released next summer, as well as the Blake Lively shark movie The Shallows from 2016.

Quintessa is an up-and-coming performer who has also appeared in the first season of HBO’s Euphoria, and is currently shooting that network’s acclaimed series In Treatment alongside Uzo Aduba.
