It appears that the cast of the superhero series is expanding.

On Thursday, actress Vera Farmiga and her costar Tony Dalton were spotted on the New York City set of the upcoming Jeremy Renner-led show Hawkeye.

The actors were seen sharing an emotional scene with each other before becoming distracted by an event occurring in the distance.

The 47-year old actress was seen in an eye-catching red satin dress; she also kept her hair cut tight above her shoulders.

Her 45-year-old costar looked dapper in a dark grey tuxedo, which he paired with a black tie.

Dalton is set to portray Jack Duquesne, a mentor figure to the series’ titular character; in the comics, the character is better known as Swordsman.

Farmiga will play Eleanor Bishop, who is the mother of Kate Bishop, another incarnation of the archer.

Bishop will be played by Hailee Steinfeld, who joined the show earlier this month after weeks of speculation regarding her participation in the series.

Also rounding out the cast will be Fra Free, Brian d’Arcy James, and Florence Pugh, who will portray Black Widow; she is also set to feature in her character’s upcoming film alongside Scarlett Johansson.

Development on the Hawkeye project began in 2018, when Marvel began optioning series for characters who would have not received their own films.

The series had its official announcement at the following year’s Comic-Con International.

While Renner had previously signed on to star in a movie centered around his character, the decision to rework the idea into a limited series came from Marvel Studios CEO Kevin Feige.

The actor made his first appearance as the character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with an uncredited cameo during the 2011 film Thor, and went on to be featured in four other films in the media franchise.

Filming on the upcoming show began in November at Trilith Studios in Atlanta before moving to New York City for on-location shooting.

The series is tentatively slated to debut in late 2021 on the Disney+ streaming service.
