Strictly’s Jamie Laing believes Giovanni Pernice ‘FANCIES’ Ranvir Singh amid romance rumours

Strictly Come Dancing’s Ranvir Singh and professional partner Giovanni Pernice have been at the centre of romance rumours for weeks now.

But their Strictly co-star Jamie Laing may added fuel to the fire as he revealed he believes Italian dancer Giovanni, 30, ‘fancies’ the Good Morning Britain presenter, 43.

The Made In Chelsea star, 32, gave his verdict on the situation, stating that although Ranvir and Giovanni’s chemistry is part of their performance, he feels that Giovanni may have the hots for Ranvir.

Speaking to Metro.co.uk, he said: ‘I think Giovanni fancies Ranvir, that’s what I think. I am in love with Giovanni and I’m in love with Ranvir, so I’d be jealous of either of them if they started hooking up with each other.’

He continued: ‘I just think they’re incredible friends, they’re amazing partners. You have to remember that they’re putting on a performance. When you’re putting on a performance, it’s about making people believe it.’

The reality star, who last week was saved from elimination once again, added that the duo are doing a great job in their dances if Strictly fans are convinced they’re an item.

He said: ‘If people at home are believing they’re in a relationship, then they’re doing their amazing job together, that’s incredible. They’re such a beautiful partnership, it’s amazing.’

Jamie’s words comes as Giovanni and Ranvir did little to stop romance speculation after the professional dancer was heard calling his partner ‘baby’ during Saturday’s show.

Giovanni was heard whispering ‘come on baby’ in the TV presenter’s ear as they twirled across the dance floor during their Viennese Waltz.

The unheard moment was picked up by Giovanni’s microphone during the dance, with BBC Strictly’s Twitter page sharing the footage on Wednesday.

The show’s official Twitter account penned: ‘Pump up your volume for all the sounds from Musicals Week!’

Ranvir and Giovanni put on an emotional display during Saturday’s routine to She Used To Be Mine from the hit stage show Waitress during Musicals Week.

After the dance, which scored them 27 points, the Strictly professional even planted a sweet kiss on his celeb partner’s forehead, doing little to dispel romance rumours.

It is not the first time Giovanni has called Ranvir ‘baby’, as he said in unheard clip from their American Smooth: ‘Love you. Surprise. It’s our song, baby girl. I love this song. I love you, let’s go.’

But Ranvir has repeatedly insisted that the steamy performances the couple have put on during Strictly are just for the cameras.

She said on Good Morning Britain: ‘It’s quite funny isn’t it? I’ve watched the show before and you want to believe in the dream.

‘That’s part of the magic of Strictly. It’s make believe, it’s fantasy it’s beautiful.’

Host Piers Morgan joked he thinks romance is blooming between the pair, saying: ‘Let the record show I’ve asked about the hand holding pics and there’s no denial.  I’m looking at the pics and I just think, 2+2=4’.

But the Strictly contestant responded: ‘I think you should stick to words, you’re rubbish at maths.’

Ranvir also brushed off any such talk as she declared there’s no room in her life for anyone apart from her son and her dog in a candid interview with Prima magazine.

Speaking about her home life, Ranvir, who shares son Tushaan, eight, with estranged husband Ranjeet Singh Dehal, said her focus is on her son and new dog Shmizzels.

She explained: ‘Will there ever be any room for another person with my son and I? We have a dog now, too!

‘We got him in lockdown; he’s a little cockapoo called Shmizzels. He’s so cute and needy, the poor little thing. I love him and I can’t imagine life without him now.’

Saturday’s semi-final will see Ranvir and Giovanni put on another sizzling performance as they dance the Waltz to Un Giorno Per Noi by Josh Groban.
