Holly Willoughby is left in hysterics after Phillip Schofield’s festive tinsel takes a rude turn

Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield were left in hysterics on Wednesday’s This Morning after a fun tinsel dance took a rude turn.

The two presenters, aged 39 and 58, decided to get into the festive spirit as they made ‘glitter pants’ for the ITV star by tying gold tinsel around his waist.

Phillip decided to show off the creation as he danced and gyrated his hips to George Michael’s Careless Whisper.

Yet the presenter was unaware that the decoration had positioned itself in a rather unfortunate place as he busted some moves.  

As he gyrated his hips to the music, he was left in hysterics as he suddenly realised the rude position and exclaimed: ‘Oh no!’

To which Holly pointed out in fits of giggles: ‘It’s all hanging down! Take it off, for goodness sake!’  

Holly also got into the festive spirit in a stunning silver patterned sparkly dress with sheer cape-like sleeves.

Commenting on his co-host’s ensemble, Phillip said: ‘Well, you look lovely with your very shimmery sparkle!’

Fans were left in hysterics over the scenes as they took to Twitter to share their thoughts.

One person joked: ‘My eyes may never recover’ followed by crying laughing emojis. 

A different fan put: ‘That gave the laugh I needed this morning, hilarious.’

This Morning is gearing up for its star-studded ‘mash-up’ pantomime performance this Friday.

Joanna Lumley and Sheridan Smith will join hosts Holly and Phillip on stage for the virtual festive production  

The pantomime will support the struggling theatre industry after several pantos have been cancelled this year due to the coronavirus crisis and give viewers the opportunity to watch a fun performance from home.

The theatre industry has been one of the hardest hit by the COVID-19 pandemic, with many venues still closed or reopening with reduced audiences  after being forced to shut their doors in March.  

The ‘mash-up’ will combine a collection of popular panto classics such as Dick Whittington, Jack and the Beanstalk, Peter Pan, Aladdin and Snow White – to name a few. 

The main storyline will see Holly, 39, star as Cinderella as she attempts to attend the This Morning Ball with her best friend, Buttons, played by Phillip, 58.

Joanna will play the wicked step-mother on a ‘mission to destroy the fun’ with Sheridan starring as Peter Pan.

Presenters Eamonn Holmes and his wife Ruth Langsford will be playing Santa and Mrs Claus with new Friday host Alison Hammond the fairy godmother.     

Kicking off with a performance from Britain’s Got Talent 2020 winner Jon Courtenay,  soap queen Sharon Marshall will play Dick Whittington and Christoper Biggins will star as Dame Sarah the Cook. 

Dr Ranj will play Genie of the Lamp in Aladdin with Gyles Brandreth taking on the character Widow Twankey.

Fashion expert Lisa Snowdon will play Peter Pan’s Tinkerbell while Matthew Wright will star as Captain Hook.

Presenter Josie Gibson will perform as Snow White with Martin Lewis playing the Magic Mirror. 

Other characters include chef Phil Vickery as Dame Susie the Sous Chef, Alice Beer as Goldilocks and agony aunts, Deidre Sanders and Vanessa Feltz, as the two wicked step-sisters.
