Returning to Summer Bay? Bec Hewitt wants to ‘move back to Sydney’s Northern Beaches as she plans a career comeback’

Bec Hewitt is eyeing off a move back to Sydney, after living in Melbourne for years.

According to New Idea this week, the 37-year-old actress wants to return to the Northern Beaches, where she grew up.

A source close to the former Home and Away star told the magazine she was hoping the familiar territory would help with a career comeback.

‘[She hopes the move will] help resolve some of the dilemmas she has about what to do with her own career,’ the insider added.

‘With the three kids quickly growing up, Bec is conscious about what she wants to do next with her own career.’

Living in the Northern Beaches means Bec would be less than an hour from the set of Home and Away in Palm Beach.

Bec portrayed Hayley Smith Lawson on the soap opera from 1998 to 2005.

She left the show shortly after marrying tennis champion Lleyton Hewitt in a ceremony at Sydney’s Taronga Zoo.

She went on host travel show Helloworld, but this project was put on hold due to the Covid-19 pandemic this year.

‘Bec has always been an upfront kind of person and has made no secret that this has been one of her toughest years ever,’ the source added.

The decision to refocus on her own career makes sense given that Bec’s children, Mia, 15, Cruz, 11, and Ava, 10, are growing up at lightning-fast speed.

The Hewitts’ eldest daughter, Mia, has reportedly already expressed an interest in pursuing a modelling career in Paris or New York.
