Mother, 42, is left disgusted after Ocado delivered three carrier bags of URINE with shopping

A mother-of-three was left disgusted after an Ocado delivery driver dropped off three bags of urine with food she bought for her birthday. 

Michelle Leonard, 42, threw all of her birthday party food away after it was delivered to her family home in Islington, north London, last Thursday. 

Her son Alfie, 19, found the carrier bags of urine mixed in with her £57 food delivery from Ocado. 

She had ordered chicken wings, pastrami, breaded ham, crisps, wine and other snacks for a celebration with her three children, aged 22, 19 and 14.  

Ms Leonard told The Sun: ‘I am absolutely disgusted, especially with Covid. My son was helping me unpack my shopping and said, ”Mum, what’s that in the bag?”

‘There were three tiny carrier bags all tied up tightly and obviously it was urine. You could see it was urine.’  

She added that she had been choosing to use food delivery services due to anxiety over the coronavirus pandemic. 

But she has vowed never to use Ocado again. 

Ms Leonard believes a driver may have urinated into the bags when they were caught short on the road.  

She called Ocado to complain and requested that they pick up the bags of urine for testing. 

But instead Ocado sent a replacement order of her shopping the next day and refunded her £57.  

Ocado delivered its own branded food as well as produce from Marks & Spencer. 

The online delivery giant has apologised and launched an investigation.   

Ocado told The Sun: ‘We would like to sincerely apologise to this customer.

‘This situation is unacceptable and we are investigating it as a matter of urgency.’
