Renee Barrett was brutally dumped via text by Matt Whyatt, just weeks after they declared their love for each other on Bachelor in Paradise.
But it seems the 29-year-old blonde is having the last laugh about their failed romance on social media.
On Friday, Renee went back through all her old Instagram posts to update her previously loved-up captions with savage comments, labelling BMX rider Matt a ‘tool’, a ‘f**kboy’ and her ‘biggest mistake’.

‘Let’s hope I’ve had my heart broken for the last time and I can find love again.’
Fans noticed the changes and praised her efforts, with one supporter commenting said: ‘Living for the caption change. You go Renee. Send it girl.’

Another follower asked if Matt had done anything since their break-up to prompt the flurry of edits, to which Renee replied: ‘Nothing, my love. I just cringed every time I saw my captions so decided it was time to change them.’
Other hilarious updates include a caption on a photo of Renee passionately kissing her former flame, which now states: ‘What was I thinking?’
Another image of the exes holding hands is now captioned: ‘If you zoom closely, and move it to the left, you’ll see my biggest mistake.’

She also noted that her ‘grandad didn’t like’ Matt in the caption of one photo, which showed her family visiting the set of Bachelor In Paradise.
‘It was at this point, I should have run for the hills,’ she wrote in another updated caption of the former couple having a conversion.
Interestingly, she kept Matt tagged in the posts, which means he’ll be alerted to the new comments from fans in response to Renee’s edits.

In August, Renee Barrett revealed on the So Dramatic! podcast that Matt had brutally dumped her via text message just weeks after they left Fiji as a couple to pursue a long-distance relationship.
‘Yeah, it wasn’t great,’ Renee said of the heartbreaking text, adding: ‘But at the end of the day, I’ve had worse. God, I was with Ciarran [Stott]!’
Renee claimed that Matt, who lives on the Gold Coast, had planned to celebrate New Year’s Eve with her in Darwin – but instead dumped her just days before he was meant to fly out.

Despite the brutal way things ended, Renee conceded that her long-distance relationship with Matt likely wouldn’t have worked out anyway.
‘It’s fine. I completely understand because he is definitely somebody that needs somebody with him at all times,’ she said.
‘And at that moment I was not prepared to leave my job [in Darwin], which I love, and move for somebody that I still wasn’t too sure about,’ added Renee.
Matt is currently dating Love Island season one star Kim Hartnett.
