Justin Bieber performs Lonely and Holy while Chloe x Halle sing Ungodly Hour at the 2020 PCAs

Justin Bieber performed two of his most recent songs, Lonely and Holy, at the 2020 People’s Choice Awards on Sunday night.

The 26-year-old Canadian-born pop star was one of just two performers at the event, hosted by Demi Lovato, which took place at The Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California.

Pop sensations Chloe X Halle brought the house down with their performance of Ungodly Hour from their album of the same name towards the end of the show. 

Bieber was introduced by actress Alison Brie, who revealed that the singer was taking home the award for the Male Artist of 2020.

Bieber began with Lonely, as he started the song on stage which was dressed up as a desolate road as he sat at a bus stop.

The singer was wearing a grey Nike stocking cap, with a white fluffy coat, along with white pants and white shoes.

The singer walked up and down the desolate street as he performed the melancholy track, which he self-censored for the show.

At one point in the song Bieber walked over to Benny Blanco, who accompanied him on an electric piano.

As the song came to an end, the stage walls opened up as Bieber took off his coat and walked into a new set to sing Holy.

This set was filled with electric neon crosses, with a silver cross visible around Bieber’s neck after he took his coat off.

A gospel choir accompanied Bieber as he sang the song, which was essentially the polar opposite of Lonely, more dynamic and upbeat.  

He brought the crowd to its feet as he sang the final bars as the audience erupted with applause. 

The second and final performance of the night came from Chloe x Halle, who sang the title song from their new album Ungodly Hour.

The duo rocked black outfits with cutouts in the midriff area with their hair tied up in a top pony tail.

They were joined by a number of dancers who rocked all black ensembles including face masks.
