Princess Diana’s brother Earl Spencer has unveiled a rare photo of their father – and fans have gone wild for the family resemblance.
Charles Spencer, 56, who lives at Althorp House, took to Twitter to share the image of the late Captain John Spencer, taken in his army days in the late 1940s, to mark Armistice Day.
And fans were eager to point out the likeness between father and son, with one saying: ‘You look so much like your father! You come from a wonderful family with dignity and respect.’

Alongside the snap yesterday, the Earl posted three photos from a Remembrance Day ceremony in France last year, include a snap where he stood next to a beaming older lady.
Charles captioned the photos: ‘Remembering my father & his men from the #royalscotsgreys who liberated Vieille-Lyre & Neuve-Lyre (Normandy) in ‘44.
‘Georgette (in her 90s) and family hid a downed Canadian airman. They’d have been shot if found out. I was humbled to be a guest, 75 years on. #ArmisticeDay.’
The Earl’s social media followers were keen to point out the family resemblance between Princess Diana’s brother and his father John.
Reaction: Fans were eager to point out the likeness between father and son, with one saying: ‘You look so much like your father! You come from a wonderful family with dignity and respect.’
‘My goodness, you look like your father and, bless him,’ one person wrote, while another said: ‘Beautiful… and you look so much like your father.’
A third added: ‘What a lovely way to commemorate these heroes. Oh and by the way you look so much like your handsome father! May they all rest in peace.’
Earlier this month, the Earl took to Twitter to share a throwback snap of himself and the Princess of Wales on a summer day in 1967.
Princess Diana can be seen wearing a white dress with pink stripes, coordinated with red sandals and white socks, while Earl Spencer is all smiles, as he dons blue shorts with a contrasting striped blue t-shirt.
Charles chose not to caption the sentimental post, but racked up hundreds of comments from others who have fond memories of the late Princess.
