And on Thursday, his pregnant wife Sylvia Jeffreys, 34, shared a sweet picture of the pair’s nine-month-old son Oscar watching ‘Dada’ on live TV, after he left them behind in Australia for work duties overseas.
‘Dada’s still going!’ Sylvia captioned the sweet shot, which showed little Oscar sat bolt upright in his pajamas as he watched his father, 38, discuss the results on-screen.

Beaming with pride, Sylvia later shared another photo of Peter on her TV screen which she captioned: ‘Happy election day US!’
Peter recently joked about leaving his family behind to cover the election, saying it’s the ‘best sleep he’s had in months’.
During an interview on Nova’s Fitzy & Wippa, radio host Ryan ‘Fitzy’ Fitzgerald asked: ‘How can you leave a nine-month-old son, Oscar, at home with a pregnant wife and get over there and drink as much Bud Light as you can in the United States?’
Peter responded: ‘Why are you saying that like it’s a bad thing? It’s the best sleep I’ve had in months!’

While he might be getting more sleep in America than at home, the broadcaster has been very busy indeed covering the lead-up to the U.S. election.
He has shared several behind-the-scenes photos to Instagram while reporting from the States, and on Wednesday uploaded an image of himself sitting in front of the White House in Washington, D.C.
