Claudia Schiffer reveals she has her own BARBIE as toy company creates dolls wearing Balmain and Versace dresses to celebrate her 50th birthday

She turned 50 earlier this year.

And to celebrate the milestone occasion, Barbie have created a designer-clad Claudia Schiffer doll to commemorate the supermodel’s big birthday.

The German native’s likeness has been used for two new dolls, including one that recreates a black netted Balmain dress Claudia wore in 2016.

Speaking about the new collaboration, Claudia said: ‘You’re never too old to play with Barbie, especially when you have amazing outfits like Balmain. So cool.’

Claudia recycled the showstopping look for a recent shoot, as she posed with her own personalised Barbie doll ahead of the release.

The star showcased her incredible physique in the form-fitting black midi dress, which was teamed with a pair of peep-toe heels with buckle detailing.

Creative director of Balmain, Olivier Rousteing, said of the Balmain-inspired outfit: ‘Claudia Schiffer is, of course, one of fashion’s most transformative figures—she’s the definition of a supermodel.

‘Over the decades, she’s inspired millions with her distinctive mix of confidence, style and beauty. Seeing her in one of my favourite runway looks was one of my proudest moments—and the Balmain campaign that she shot for me will forever remain one of my favorite memories.

‘So, obviously, I am beyond thrilled to see that same look replicated on another inspiring fashion icon, Barbie.’

True blue: While Balmain director Olivier opted to recreate a recent look, Donatella Versace decided to go for a throwback ensemble, which Claudia wore during one of her show's in 1994 during the height of her modelling career.

Claudia told Vogue: ‘It’s a dreamy blue dress with a signature Versace corset bodice and a floor-length, semi-sheer, shimmery A-line skirt.’

She added: ‘I love both Versace and Balmain, and these two dresses made strong fashion statements when I first wore them.’

Fashion fans hoping to get their hands on one of the dolls will be disappointed however as they have been created for an editorial on Barbie’s Instagram page.
