Photographers have captured the heartwarming moments during weddings around the world which highlight how ceremonies have been impacted due to the coronavirus pandemic.
With COVID-19 regulations causing many big days to be postponed or cancelled, some bride and grooms continued with their plans on a much smaller scale – with a limited number of guests, social distancing measures in place and safety precautions such as face coverings.
This is Reportage, which celebrates the work of wedding photographers, has shared 25 images of ‘real, un-staged and un-posed moments’ which show how the ceremonies have been impacted by coronavirus.
Tom Tomeij, from the Netherlands, captured the sweet moment an elderly father kissed his bride-to-be daughter on the forehead while she was covered in a protective plastic film.
Lori-Anne Crewe, a photographer from Canada, snapped an image of a couple tearfully video calling their loved ones, while in Portugal, a bride was captured shouting in victory next to a masked door porter in an image by snapper Valter Antunes.
A couple in France shared their first kiss in front of guests wearing masks in an enclosed room, beautifully captured by Sebastien Clavel, while another bride and a groom in France tied the knot in an official ceremony without any guests present apart from wedding officials.
Meanwhile, a couple in Ireland conducted a virtual wedding ceremony with guests on a video call, and a bride and groom in the Netherlands went the extra mile to set up cardboard cutouts of friends and family seated in the crowd amongst guests, with the moment saved by Jill Streefland.
Other pictures show how COVID-19 has impacted weddings in many other ways, such as wedding caterers having to wear PPE, brides sporting gloves as part of their attire, socially distanced seating and deserted venues.
