Wales’ Six Nations showdown with Scotland will go ahead as planned, despite the country entering a two-week fire-break lockdown.

Wales have been waiting to face Scotland after a rearranged Six Nations fixture was pencilled in, though this was thought to be under threat because of the latest actions.

Wales will face Scotland at the end of the month despite new lockdown measures imposed

However it has now been stated in Government guidelines that professional sport is permitted to continue during the stated two-week window, as report Wales Online.

This means Wales will go up against rivals Scotland at the Parc y Scarlets on October 31 as originally planned.

Fans will be permitted to watch from home and are not allowed to mix households to watch the fixture together.

The match, which was originally scheduled to take place on Saturday March 14, was one of the first sporting events to get chalked off due to the initial rise of coronavirus in the UK.

It was put back indefinitely, until rugby chiefs decided on an October return in line with other professional sport. The match is to take place in a closed stadium.
