Mindy Kaling books first big screen role since welcoming baby number 2 as she signs up for heist film Lockdown
She revealed a few days ago that she gave birth to her second child in early September.
And now Mindy Kaling has booked her first on screen role since welcoming son Spencer, a brother for her daughter Katherine, whom she calls Kit.
The 41-year-old has signed on for a role in director Doug Liman’s star-studded heist movie Lockdown, Deadline.com reported Monday.

The movie is currently shooting in London and centers on a couple’s plot to steal jewelry from the famous Harrods department store.
The protagonists are played by Anne Hathaway and Chewitel Eijofor and the rest of the cast includes Ben Stiller, Dulee Hill, Lily James and Mark Gatiss.
And as if that wasn’t star power enough, Liman has also just recruited Ben Kingsley and Lucy Boynton to the thriller, according to Deadline.
Kaling’s last big screen outing was in the comedy Late Night with Emma Thompson which was released in June 2019.

The actress, writer and producer revealed she had added to her family during an appearance on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert last Thursday.
She had not publicly disclosed the pregnancy although she was visibly pregnant on outings in LA over the summer.
She had been similarly private about her first pregnancy which resulted in the birth of her daughter in December 2017.

Kaling has not disclosed the identity of her children’s father and has kept her daughter out of the spotlight.
The Ocean’s 8 actress opened up about her decision to become a mother during an interview with Glamour in 2019, telling the magazine: ‘I always knew I wanted to be a mom, but I would have put it off and put it off. I’m happy that it happened when it did.’
Like her family, Mindy tends to keep her romantic life out of the limelight.
Kaling is close friends with The Office co-star and co-writer B.J. Novak, who she dated on and off throughout the series’ run.
