The next iPhone has been a big topic this year, as coronavirus lockdowns caused disruptions to Apple’s global supply chain that caused a number of delays for the tech giant.

Last month, Apple had confirmed that iOS users would not see the new device until October – but that time has finally come.

The press invite for the event says ‘Hi, Speed,’ which may point at the rumors that the iPhone will come with 5G capabilities.

The event is set for 1pm ET Tuesday and will be hosted on a live-stream from Apple’s headquarters in California.

The models include an iPhone 12 Mini with a 5.4-inch display, which starts at $699, a 6.1-inch handset at $799, the Pro handset is set at $999 and the iPhone 12 Pro Max will cost $1,099. Apple is set to announce the smartphones Tuesday, October 13 at 1pm ET

Tech leaker PineLeaks shared the news about the updated camera on Twitter, saying the ‘digital and optical zoom will get a massive boost this year’, as reported on by The Sun.

The Twitter user suggests the new camera will rely entirely on software to zoom in on objects, all while still keeping the quality in the image.

In July, Apple was said to be it partnering with Samsung subsidiary and another Chinese firm to fit ‘periscope camera lenses’ to upcoming iPhones, according respected leaker Ming-Chi Kuo.

The original prediction was set to be added to smartphones in 2022, but users may see it two years earlier.

Along with wanting to know about the new technology in the next iPhone, users are also interested in pricing and release dates.
