‘It’s blatant racism’: Gogglebox’s Tom Malone hits back at vile trolls after receiving abuse for his relationship with girlfriend Bryony
Gogglebox star Tom Malone has been forced to hit back at racist trolls after sharing a snap with his girlfriend Bryony.
The TV favourite – who appears alongside his family on the Channel 4 show – took to Twitter to warn fans that racism is still ‘a massive issue,’ after receiving a vile comment asking of his girlfriend’s whereabouts.
Tom first went public with his relationship with Bryony in June, having begun dating after meeting through mutual friends.

Tom shared a screenshot of an Instagram comment he’d received from the troll, asking: ‘Where’s ya bird.???’ along with a string of monkey emojis.
Clearly enraged by the abuse, he told his 64,000 followers: ‘This happened just minutes ago….2020,’ he wrote beside the picture.
‘Racism is a massive issue in the UK whether you want to admit it or not. #BlackLivesMatter.’

He wrote: ‘A lot of people are trying to brush this off as someone that’s ‘jealous’.
‘I know you guys mean well but that’s just belittling the issue. The issue here is blatant racism… not jealousy.
‘Most people who get jealous resort to unfollowing me…not racial abuse.’

Bryony herself also retweeted her boyfriend’s comments, writing: ‘I am tired. Imagine being racially abused in a post that doesn’t even have my face in it. How can these people be BOTHERED.’
Tom and Bryony began dating in June after meeting through mutual friends, and in July he shared a sweet tribute to his girlfriend as she graduated from university.
He wrote: ‘Apparently I gotta call her Wifey BA(Hons) from now on. ‘Congratulations beautiful. Proud of you.’
Tom has appeared on Gogglebox alongside the Malone family since 2014, with the household known for their litter of huge dogs, and ever-changing snacks perched on the leather footstool.
