Piers Morgan gives fans a glimpse of his stunning Sussex home as he relaxes in the sunshine before returning to GMB with Susanna Reid

Piers Morgan enjoyed the final days of his summer break this week ahead of his imminent return to Good Morning Britain with regular co-host Susanna Reid.

The presenter, 55, has divided his time between the south of France and Sussex while taking some well earned time away from the daily breakfast show.

And he appeared to be making the most of his last week of lie-ins by sharing social media posts from the outdoor pool at his family home in leafy Newick.

Piers, who also owns properties in London and Los Angeles, gave followers a glimpse at the spacious outdoor area while enjoying southern England’s 21 degree temperatures on Wednesday.

The presenter revealed his large swimming pool surrounded by neatly manicured hedges, perfectly arranged paving and wooden fencing.

Piers and his second wife, author and journalist Celia Walden, arrived in the UK from Saint Tropez before tightening travel restrictions demanded visitors to France quarantine for 14 days upon their return.

The presenter will return to the Good Morning Britain studio with Susanna on September 2, with ITV confirming the news alongside updates for Lorraine, Loose Women and This Morning.

The channel has released a trailer featuring presenters across its daytime shows, with Phillip Schofield, Holly Willoughby and more all returning to air.

They said: ‘We’ve had a haircut. And a pint. We’ve been reunited with loved ones. Out to eat. Met friends. Back to school. And adjusted to a new normal.

‘We’ve had twists and turns. We’ve had ups and downs. We’ve begun to expect the unexpected.

‘What will September bring? No matter what comes next. We’re with you every step of the way. In a world where everything is different.’

Piers rounded off the trailer as he added: ‘Not everything needs to be a new normal.’

The exciting news comes after it was revealed Phillip and Holly would be back on the This Morning sofa on Monday.

The pair will be joined by a host of roving reporters, including actor Nigel Havers, who is to present a four-part Best of British segment, which will see him embark on a stunning tour to learn of the nation’s history and achievements.

Nigel said: ‘It’s a genuine pleasure to be able to take the time out to tour Britain for This Morning viewers this September. I’ve packed some hand sanitiser, a picnic blanket and an umbrella just in case.’

This Morning’s usual Friday presenters, husband and wife duo Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes, have stepped in for Phil and Holly over the summer.
