During the clip, the Deliveroo driver, wearing a helmet, throws a punch at his rival driver before the Uber Eats worker attempts to wrestle him to the floor.

The two workers hold each other near the neck as passers-by call on them to break up the fight and the driver filming the scenes shouts: ‘Stop it now!’

Frustrated drivers beep their horns in an attempt to break up the fight as traffic is held up at the busy junction.

With their motorcycles laid in the road, the pair remain in a brawl and the Deliveroo driver throws another punch at the Uber Eats worker.

Police were called to the scene to reports of a minor road traffic collision in the city centre.

Officers confirmed no arrests have been made in relation to the incident but said inquiries were ongoing.

A Northumbria Police spokesman said: ‘At about 6.50pm on Monday police received a report of a collision between two motorcycles on the junction of Newgate Street and Percy Street in Newcastle city centre.

The scenes come after four rival delivery drivers were caught on camera fighting outside a Subway store near Paddington train station in London, earlier this year.

The footage, which was was originally shared to an Uber Eats and Deliveroo Facebook group, saw a group of four delivery drivers share heated words with each other before a scuffle ensued.

The dispute reportedly began after several drivers showed up for the same order.
