Rob Lowe, 56, shows off his toned beach body and tan while shirtless on the sand in Santa Barbara

Rob Lowe showed off his beach body Sunday while out on the sand in Santa Barbara, California.

The 56-year-old actor wore two-tone blue striped swim trunks and a golden pendant necklace while out on the beach.

Rob was clean shaven and his short wet hair was spiked up during the summer outing.

The West Wing star also had a tattoo on his left shoulder on display.

Rob was a teen idol in the 1980s with roles in films such as The Outsiders, Class, Oxford Blues, St. Elmo’s Fire and About Last Night.

He has been married since 1991 to Sheryl Berkoff, 59, and they have sons John, 25, and Matthew, 27, together.

Rob stars in the spin-off series 9-1-1: Lone Star that premiered in January on Fox and also is an executive producer. 

He portrays Owen Strand, a New York City firefighter captain who relocates to Texas with his son while also dealing with lung cancer as a result of being a first responder during the 9/11 Twin Tower attacks where he also lost his entire firehouse.

Fox renewed the series in April for a second season.

Rob also is the host and producer of the Mental Samurai game show that premiered on Fox in March 2019.

The game show challenges contestants with knowledge-based questions that they answer while being moved around by a large robot arm in a specially designed 360-degree capsule.

The second season was scheduled to premiere on April 22, 2020, but it has been postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

 Rob was honored in 2015 with a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame.
