Courteney Cox joins designer Zuhair Murad in his initiative to help the people of Beirut after earlier blast left around 180 people dead and another 6,000 injured

Courteney Cox modeled a shirt for charity Tuesday as she joined designer Zuhair Murad in his initiative to help the people of Beirut following a deadly blast there earlier this month. 

‘I am joining [Zuhair Murad] in his initiative to help the people of Beirut who have lost so much during this devastating tragedy,’ the 56-year-old Friends star said in a statement alongside the image.

Cox said that ‘100% of the profits from this T-shirt will support the relief efforts of [Offre Joie] who are currently on the grounds responding to humanitarian needs. Please help support by swiping up and purchasing your tee!’

Cox, who played Monica Gellar on NBC’s Friends, posed outside in the Murad-designed white top, that read ‘Rise from the Ashes.’

In the image, she had her brown locks down and parted and paired the top with white pants.

The Mothers and Daughters actress was joined by other notable celebs including Sofia Vergara and model Alessandra Ambrosio in the campaign, in which money will be forwarded to relief efforts.

It comes two weeks after an explosion of 3,000 tons of ammonium nitrate in the city’s port area which was felt from as many as 150 miles away, decimating nearby blocks, buildings and structures.

Murad, 49, who was born in Ras Baalbek, Lebanon, took to the social media site earlier Tuesday to advertise his charity drive.

‘Together we will #RiseFromTheAshes,’ the fashion designer sad. ‘Join me in helping the people of Beirut who have lost so much during this devastating tragedy.’

Compounding problems in Lebanon is an uptick of coronavirus cases in the wake of the calamitous blast, which did damage to a pair of the hospitals that had been focused on treating the pandemic, the AP reported. Medical authorities in Lebanon have requested two weeks of lockdown in an effort to quell the spread of the virus.
