‘Sad day today!’ Michael Clarke reveals his heartbreak at the sudden loss of his beloved ‘little mate’
Former Australian cricket captain Michael Clarke has revealed his heartbreak at the devastating loss of his pet dog.
The 39-year-old took to Instagram on Monday, sharing a photo of his beloved ‘little mate’, Jerry.
‘Sad day today in the Clarke household saying goodbye to my little mate, Jerry,’ he began. He added the hashtag #15goodyears and #RIP.

Later, he took to Instagram stories in order to show his four-year-old daughter Kelsey Lee hugging the beloved pet dog.
Michael’s girlfriend Pip Edwards added a number of broken heart emojis to the emotional post.
Former wife Kyly Clarke also shared a picture of the pet dogs: ‘Been a tuff day today. My little furry buddy departed this family,’ she wrote.
‘We will miss you Jed, thanks for the good times. Rest In Peace Jerry John.’

It comes after Michael’s relationship with P.E Nation founder Pip Edwards continues to go from strength-to-strength.
On Saturday, the couple looked more loved-up than ever during a stroll around Vaucluse in Sydney.
Posting to her Instagram account, Pip shared a picture of herself cosying up to her beau by the water.

The couple were joined on the stroll by their children from previous marriages, Michael’s four-year-old daughter Kelsey-Lee and Pip’s son, Justice Maximus, 13.
Pip shared several snaps of the blended family’s fun-filled outing to her Instagram Story.

In one snap Michael and the children are shown soaking up the sun as they explore rockpools along the walk and in another she and Michael enjoyed a Fanta.
It comes as former Australian cricket captain Michael Clarke and Pip’s relationship continues to go from strength-to-strength.
Last month, the couple embarked on their first family holiday together with their children from previous marriages, after months of keeping their romance a secret.
The pair began dating sometime in late 2019, following Michael’s split from his wife-of-seven-years, Kyly.
Their relationship didn’t become public knowledge, however, until after the Clarkes announced their separation on February 12.
