Sam Reitano is ‘heartbroken’ after Emily Rath’s confession on Farmer Wants A Wife

Sam Reitano was left devastated on Monday’s episode of Farmer Wants A Wife after his self-confessed ‘favourite’ Emily Rath admitted she couldn’t see their relationship turning ‘romantic’.  

After earlier telling Riley he only saw her as a friend, the tables were turned on Sam, 28, when Emily told him she didn’t have feelings for him.

‘I am a little bit nervous, because I don’t think how I currently feel is what Sam thinks I feel, and I am worried about hurting his feelings,’ she admitted ahead of their chat. 

The 24-year-old added: ‘But I think it needs to be said.’

Sitting down together for a private conversation, Emily proceeded to tell Sam she didn’t see their relationship ‘developing more in a romantic sense’.

Clearly devastated, Sam sat staring silently at the ground, before admitting he was ‘quite heartbroken’.

‘I thought she was somebody I might marry one day. I just didn’t see it coming. I guess I just read her signals wrong,’ he confessed. 

Talking to Emily, he added: ‘Since the moment I met you, I thought, “Oh, man. I can see my future with her already.” Since day one, you’ve been my favourite.’ 

At a loss for words, Emily said she just wanted to be ‘honest’ with Sam about how she was feeling. 

‘I respect him 100 per cent as a person, but I just don’t seem to have that spark towards him, and you need that,’ she later said. 

Retreating to the privacy of his bedroom, Sam admitted he’d been planning on sending Riley home that night, but Emily’s confession had thrown him.

‘I’m resting everything now on Soph. I hope something great does happen between us,’ he said.
