‘She looks great’: India Reynolds has slammed trolls who told Molly-Mae Hague to ‘go on a diet’ and says she’s grown to love her own body after years of comparing herself to ‘skinny models’

Talking to MailOnline, the reality star, who launches collection India Loves with lingerie brand Pour Moi on Saturday, said: ‘I feel sorry for Molly because if you ask me she looks great in the pictures.

‘If I were sat down obviously I’m not going to look great but if I stand up in a long position or in a certain way you can make yourself look much better and that’s the picture you’re going to post on social media.

‘She hasn’t done anything wrong. She has posted an image from a good angle and the photographers have got her at a different angle but she still looks great.

‘Molly is young; at 21 you don’t need people saying horrible things about your body. I feel really, really sorry for her. She wasn’t expecting the photos to be taken; of course she looks different in a pose.’

India, who’s stripped down for an exclusive lingerie shoot, has learned to accept her own figure after years of being pressured by the industry to be slim as brands failed to represent a range of body types.

She said: ‘When I first started out I always looked at skinnier models and wished I were a bit smaller.

‘I have been on shoots before where other girls are tiny skinny and I’m never going to look like that, even if I didn’t eat for two months.

‘For so many jobs they didn’t want you to have big boobs, I never disliked mine but from a work perspective they weren’t ideal.

‘I’ve had times in my life where I’ve been training, training, and training and still not been happy with my body, it’s something you have to work on from the inside out.’

India, who was wrongly accused of cheating on Ovie Soko, 29, after the pair came third on Love Island last year, hinted she could be in a new relationship but she’s vowed to keep her romantic life private following her experience in the villa.

She said: ‘After having a relationship in the public eye… It was really, really difficult. I’ve learned I will never do that again.

‘It’s just too much to have other people’s opinions. Having that pressure on your relationship is too much so I want to keep that side of my life behind closed doors.’

This year Love Island has been unable to air its summer series as a result of the coronavirus outbreak but the ITV2 series is due to return in 2021.

India said: ‘I love the show and loved it before I went on but I feel really sad about Caroline.

‘I don’t know if the show will ever be the same fully without her.’

Talking about being a contestant, she said: ‘To go on the show you have to be really sure that you want to put yourself in the public eye and be really aware of what it entails.

‘As much as there are lots of things that are fantastic, there are downsides and you have to be careful and be sure you’re mentally able to deal with that. Some people don’t think of that before.

‘When you’re in there remember – it’s hard but you are being filmed. Walking away and taking a five-minute breather is better than screaming and shouting.’
