Big Brother fans outraged as voting closes 18 seconds after Sophie Budack pleads her case to win

‘I hope this thing isn’t rigged!’ Big Brother fans outraged as voting closes on live finale 18 seconds after Sophie Budack pleads case to win

Fans were outraged after voting closed just moments after housemate Sophie Budack pleaded her case to win Big Brother on the live finale.

The 26-year-old finished her heartfelt final message to the audience just 18 seconds before Sonia Kruger announced voting had closed.

Her fans immediately took to social media to question whether the show was rigged, while others pointed out their final speeches should have come at the start of the lengthy live episode.

‘I’m sensing a stunt. Voting closed the moment Sophie finished her plea. People were able to sit there and digest Dan’s plea and still have time to vote for him,’ one fan claimed.

Another added: ‘Well that was pointless close the voting as they make their pleads [sic] to win.’

‘Sophie JUST pitched and they immediately closed voting,’ a third fan said.

‘I hope this thing isn’t rigged lol,’ a concerned fan said.

‘They should have done these [housemate] montages BEFORE voting lines closed,’ another suggested.

Daily Mail Australia has reached out to Channel Seven for comment.

Meanwhile, other fans said anybody who wanted to vote would have already decided well before the final messages.

‘Yeah its [sic] dumb that they had to plead their cases right as lines closed but I think we’ve all got our minds made up,’ one Twitter user said.

‘The final plea was just a time filler they know everyone’s voted by now,’ another pointed out.

Chad Hurst was eventually crowned the winner of Big Brother 2020.

The 27-year-old international male model earned the most votes, taking home the reduced $234,656 cash prize, after Kieran Davidson left the show with $15,344 after a shock stand-off with Sophie on an episode last week.
