‘This is real’: Jennifer Aniston posts graphic photo of male friend with COVID-19 on ventilator as she and Courteney Cox urge folks to wear masks

She is using her fame and social media platform to encourage people to wear masks during the coronavirus pandemic.

And on Sunday, Jennifer Aniston warned of the dangers of COVID-19 by posting a photo of a friend hooked up to a ventilator in hospital.  

‘This is our friend Kevin. Perfectly healthy, not one underlying health issue. This is Covid. This is real,’ she wrote alongside the graphic photo.

It’s the latest in a series of posts that Aniston and her former co-star and real-life best friend Courteney Cox have been sharing to try and get the message across about the potentially deadly virus.

On Sunday, Mayor of Los Angeles Eric Garcetti warned once again that the city is on the brink of a second stay-at-home order due to the rising numbers of confirmed COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations.

In her lengthy post, Aniston said: ‘We can’t be so naive to think we can outrun this…if we want this to end, and we do, right? The one step we can take is PLEASE #wearadamnmask.’

The actress, 51, went on: ‘Just think about those who’ve already suffered through this horrible virus. Do it for your family. And most of all yourself. Covid affects all ages.’

She concluded: ‘PS this photo was taken in early April. Thank god he has almost recovered now. Thank you all for your prayers.’

 Aniston concluded her Instagram post with a snap of the two friends stars wearing matching tie dye face masks.

On Saturday, Cox, 56, had shared a video of herself and Aniston snuggled up with her two dogs and all four wearing masks.

Back in May, Cox had revealed during an interview with Ellen DeGeneres that friends staying with her at her Malibu mansion had contracted the coronavirus. 

‘One was completely asymptomatic and the other one, it took him down,’ she explained to the daytime chat show host.

‘He had symptoms, three days after that he was in the hospital on a ventilator, kidneys shut down… this a very young athletic guy… and his husband was completely asymptomatic.’ 

‘It really was scary,’ she told Ellen.
