An Australian grandma has showed off the simple yet impressive ‘kebab station’ she prepares for her family – complete with its own sign and fresh toppings. 

The creative home cook, from Tasmania, arranged fillings in multiple bowls including marinated chicken, cheese, onion, tomato, lettuce, cucumber and a selection of sauces and for a special touch, added a chalkboard sign and light-up board.

Posting to the Mums Who Cook and Bake Facebook group, the simple dinner solution captured the attention of thousands who agreed it was the perfect fun family meal idea.

‘Lovely presentation, looks delicious,’ one woman said.

‘Gorgeous selection and love the look of the breads!’ another said.

A third added: ‘Okay looks like we’re all going to your place for dinner then.’

‘What a wonderful idea!! Never thought of doing this! [Looks] like a taco night,’ another said.

She also seasoned and cooked the chicken by following an online recipe, which uses a variety of spices including onion powder, cumin and coriander powder.

To ensure the chicken is full of flavour, leave the meat to marinate for up to four hours in the fridge before cooking. 

The online post received praise from more than 800 people who liked the idea and shared it with other social media users by tagging friends and family members.
