‘I was embarrassed’: Married At First Sight’s Mishel Karen, 49, FINALLY explains what she’s done to her face after sharing a heavily filtered photo of herself to social media
Mishel Karen has finally explained the story behind a heavily airbrushed photo she posted to Instagram last week.
In a separate Instagram post on Wednesday, the 49-year-old former Married At First Sight star claimed her altered appearance was all thanks to a bit of clever editing.
But Mishel insisted she didn’t edit her face, and simply wanted to remove the ‘fluff’ from her black baseball cap after putting it through the wash.

‘TRUE: I edited my photo, see before and after. I was embarrassed that I washed my black cap with my towels and I had fluff on it. So I coloured it in!’ she explained.
She said she had also used a photo filter recommended to her by fellow MAFS bride Tash Herz, which gave her ‘a sun kissed glow’.
‘Instagram also has filters when you take photos… I love “Iambeautiful” @tashherz put me on that! Thank you Gorgeous. I love you always and forever. TRY IT! It is a cute filter!’ she continued.

The former reality star insisted she hadn’t had any ‘radical surgery’, but admitted she was open to it in the future.
‘FALSE: I have not had radical surgery but if and when I do I will take you along that journey!’ she added.
She said it had been a ‘lesson’ to ‘never wash your caps with towels’: ‘Dark colours attract those white fluffy ducks.’
