Kylie Jenner reveals she SPLIT her 2018 Met Gala dress while ‘squeezing’ into it and had to have zipper sewn in at last minute

She was the talk of the star-studded Met Gala in 2018 as she made a stunning appearance on the red carpet just three months after giving birth.

And Kylie Jenner revealed that the highlight of her look was all due to an unfortunate accident.

The 22-year-old  self-made billionaire took to Instagram on Monday as she revealed that she had to have a zipper sewn onto her Alexander Wang dress after splitting it.

Big reveal: Kylie Jenner took to Instagram on Monday as she revealed that she had to have a zipper sewn onto her Alexander Wang dress after splitting it

As the star-studded event was originally scheduled for today, she was in the process of sharing snaps from all of her Met Gala looks throughout the years  before making the revelation.

She wrote: ‘fun fact: this dress wasn’t supposed to have a zipper but it ripped as i was squeezing into it so we added it on the way out the door [astonished emoji] .. but it worked out and i loved it [black heart emoji]’

The shiny silver zipper really stuck out as it went down her left side from the chest to the upper thigh as she strutted her stuff down the red carpet alongside Travis Scott just three months after giving birth to their daughter Stormi.

While the theme of the gala was Heavenly Bodies And The Catholic Imagination, Kylie and her beau did not take the dress code too literally.

While some of her fellow guests went all-out high church, Kylie instead wore a simple peekaboo black Alexander Wang gown, complete with a train.

She kept the accessories to a minimum, with a pair of Gentle Monster x Alexander Wang retro spectacles and a couple of bangles.

The global COVID-19 crisis has caused the cancellation of many annual events, with the Met Gala being postponed until further notice.

This is the first time that the event – for which tickets can cost up to $35,000 a person – has been called off in the 22 years that Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour has chaired it – a job that she took on in 1995 when she made her debut as the hostess of the star-studded party.

Since then, the event has become a must-attend for Hollywood’s most prominent and glamorous stars, with A-listers going above and beyond to embrace each year’s fashion-focused theme, while also showcasing their own style credentials on the red carpet.
