The leader of the Conservative Party was battling coronavirus in an intensive care unit just a few weeks ago, and just as he was about to return to work his partner, Carrie Symonds gave birth to their first baby together; a boy.
Downing Street released the news alongside an image of Johnson – which was taken at an unknown date – on what is presumed to be a staircase from the coveted house, looking extremely happy.
Morgan, who has been a regular criticiser of Johnson and his party on GMB wasted no time in discussing the Prime Minister’s facial expression.
Kicking off the show just after 6am, Morgan said: “I don’t want to rain on the happy parade of the Prime Minister, I really don’t.

“I think it would be churlish to do that when he’s just become a father again and Carrie Symonds has just had her first baby.
“They’ve both been through a lot – they’ve both had the virus, Boris nearly died and it must have been a very worrying few weeks at the late stage of pregnancy. So I wish them all the best,” he continued.
“But you can’t get away from this jarring sense of every front page of a very happy Boris Johnson bounding up the steps inside Downing Street, released by Downing Street.
“And many newspapers have used that picture alongside very bad headlines of the death toll in this country now accelerating to the second worst in the world.
“Yet again, I’ve turned off due to the incessant drivel spouting from Piers Morgan. We don’t want to hear his constant criticism of basically anything he disagrees with. Megan Markel, Boris Johnson ….government in general!!#GMB,” one wrote.
An alternative tweet read: “Criticising Boris for being happy at the birth of his child, this show has gone downhill!#GMB.”
A spokeswoman for the Prime Minister and his partner said both mother and baby are “doing very well”.
BBC reported Johnson is expected to take a “short period” of paternity leave at some point later this year, Downing Street said.
However, they also declined to say whether the baby was born prematurely, and did not provide details of the weight, timing, nature or location of the birth.
