The impromptu finale proved the CBS drama is still as popular as it’s even been, raking in millions of viewers as the season drew to a premature close as a result of the coronavirus pandemic shutting down production.

Fans will undoubtedly be re-watching previous seasons in the time before the next series rolls around as they refresh their memories on what Callen and Sam have been up to over the past decade.

And for those already familiar with G Callen’s antics and life prior to joining the crew, they’ll know his upbringing wasn’t the easiest.

The NCIS: LA stalwart has made no secret about spending his youth in and out of foster care.

In fact, Chris O’Donnell’s character has often left colleagues and other characters stunned by revealing he spent time in 37 foster homes throughout his childhood.

When brought over to the USA, Callen clearly didn’t adapt to life in the social care system as he’s reiterated the longest time he ever spent in one home was three months.

However, one eagle-eyed fan has pointed out that Callen’s recollection of his childhood years has opened up a rather glaring plot hole in his backstory.

Taking to online forum moviemistakes, the fan explains the maths simply doesn’t add up.

The NCIS: Los Angeles fan said: “It is said G. Callen has lived in 37 foster homes between the ages 5 and 18,”
