CHRIS Evans is auctioning some of his prized posessions to raise cash for the NHS – with everything from vintage James Bond posters to Concorde seats going under the hammer.
The big-hearted Virgin Radio star, 54, has already raised £54,000 and is still adding unbelievable items to the sale, including an Olympic torch from the London Games in 2012.
The torch – believed to be the only one in existence that can still be lit – was held by war hero Captain Tom Moore as he completed a lap of his garden on his 100th birthday.
Also up for grabs is a miniature version of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, a thone that Chris bought for his Los Angeles home and the front wing of the late Formula 1 star James Hunt’s car.
Chris and his family have demonstrated the lots in a series of pictures on an auction website where you can lodge bids.
One photograph shows and wife Natasha sitting on the Concorde seats, which were salvaged from the supersonic jet.
He explained: “I cannot believe we are parting with these, but we all know where the money is going, to help and protect our wonderful NHS front line workers.
“They require a serious clean and lots of TLC but they are the genuine article.”
Also up for grabs are vintage film posters from Michael Caine hits Get Carter and The Italian job plus Bond movies Live And Let Die and Dr No.
Chris lifted the curtain on the epic auction on his Virgin Radio breakfast show yesterday, announcing: “Today we start our Family Evans garage sale for the NHS.
“We’ve done it – we’ve put together this website with a very, very nice man who runs a company called Bid In. I’ve never met the guy but he’s an absolute superstar.
“One hundred per cent of the proceeds from the auction will go to the NHS charity which needs it most come one minute past midnight on Saturday morning, when the auction closes.
“The first few lots are on today – we had so much fun over the weekend writing little descriptions about them and how much do we say about them. Can I remember where most of them come from. Answer: no!”
