The Handmaid’s Tale season 4 theories: June fights Gilead in the south | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV

In the meantime, devoted viewers have been taking a look back at previous episodes for hints to what’s to come in season four.

One of the most intriguing clues came in the form of a map released as part of the season two finale, The Word.

This map of the United States confirms the territories Gilead has managed to take over, and indicates there are major portions of America in the North and South under the regime’s control.

Much like Margaret Atwood’s original novel, much of the action described in The Handmaid’s Tale takes place around New England and Washington DC, on the East Coast of North America.
