Katie Price poses for a sweet snap with ‘guard dog’ Blade after revealing she was sexually assaulted at gunpoint during South Africa carjacking

Katie Price posed with her ‘guard dog’ Slade on Sunday, who she adopted last year following a traumatic carjacking incident in South Africa.

The model, 41, tragically lost two of her Alsatian dogs in road accidents and then adopted Slade to make her family feel safe.

She is currently isolating in her sprawling Sussex pad alongside her eldest son Harvey, 17, amid the coronavirus lockdown.

Breath of fresh air: Katie Price, 41, cut a casual figure when she took her ‘guard dog’ Slade for a walk on Sunday and shared a sweet pic to her Instagram

Katie donned a pair of casual grey jogging bottoms teamed with a black jumper for her walk.

To accompany the sweet snap, the mum-of-five penned: ‘S U N D A Y⁣⁣ It’s the end of another week in lockdown. How is everyone doing? ⁣⁣Sending you all some virtual love. ⁣⁣Stay safe’

Katie is currently appearing on Channel 4’s SAS: Celebrity Who Dares Wins and candidly detailed the harrowing incident that prompted her to adopt Slade last week on the show.

The former glamour model said that she was groped and held at gunpoint when the family stopped at the roadside because her son Junior, 14, needed the toilet.

She has since divulged to the Sun that her subsequent stay at The Priory rehab clinic was to treat her post traumatic stress disorder following the attack.

She said: ‘The reason I went there was because I got held at gunpoint and sexually assaulted.’

She continued: ‘It was like something from a horror film. This big man in an adidas hoody was shouting in my face, swearing and demanding I give him everything. And he was touching me down below.

‘I grabbed a pillow and launched myself in front of the kids, trying to protect them, waiting for a bullet to hit me. I thought I was going to die. Police said it was a miracle they didn’t kill us.’

Katie revealed that her daughter Princess, 12, will no longer go anywhere on her own hence why she bought Slade to make her feel safe.

Katie was with her children Harvey, Junior, and Princess at the time of the attack filming for her reality show on Quest Red.

All three were thrown out their vehicle by the attackers during their journey from Johannesburg to Swaziland in two people carriers.

Their vehicles were ransacked of laptops, iPads, passports, cash and jewellery – but the robbers left behind a fortune in camera gear which the crew had stored on board.

A source said at the time: ‘Katie was terrified and frantically worried for her little ones. This was a horrific ordeal… every mum’s worst nightmare.’
