Popular dating app Tinder is now offering singles in isolation free access to its ‘Passport’ feature so they can connect with anyone, anywhere in the world.
The feature allows members to search by city or drop a pin on the map and you can begin swiping, liking, matching and chatting with singles in a destination of your choice from now until April 30.
With much of the Western world in various stages of lockdown to try and contain the coronavirus pandemic, Tinders users from places such as Australia will be able to travel far from their geographic region to connect with singles in Barcelona, Baton Rogue, Manhattan or Manchester.

‘I’m happy we’ve been able to make our Passport feature, which allows you to connect with anyone, anywhere in the world, available for free to all members,’ Tinder CEO Elie Seidman said.
‘We hope our members, many of whom are anxious and looking for more human connection, can use Passport to transport themselves out of self-quarantine or isolation to anywhere in the world.
‘We’re inspired by how people are using Tinder to be there for each other, and we want to fan these flames of social solidarity.’
To change your location using Passport, you will need to tap on the profile icon, select settings, tap location and select ‘add a new location’.

You can only virtually be in one city at a time, but you can change your location as many times as you’d like. Members you’ve liked while using the Passport feature may see your profile up to a day after you’ve changed your location(s).
Globally more members are swiping right on someone new, having more conversations overall, and those chats are lasting longer.
Daily conversations have been up an average of 20 per cent around the world – and the average length of the conversations is 25 per cent longer.
People are reaching out to ask ‘Are you okay?’ instead of starting with an emoji.
In Australia, conversations have been up an average of 16% and the average length of conversations is 12 per cent longer.
‘Stay home, be safe, social distancing’, ‘how are you’, ‘wash your hands’ and face emojis are seen increasingly being used in bios – and yes, everyone is talking about toilet paper.
Tinder’s Passport is normally available as one feature within the Tinder Plus and Gold paid subscriptions.
