‘This is so far beyond absurd’: Today Extra host Sylvia Jeffreys slams panic shoppers and reveals her sister had to mail her baby Panadol from Brisbane

Sylvia Jeffreys has slammed panic shoppers in the wake of the coronavirus, revealing her sister had to send her Panadol for her newborn baby boy, Oscar.

In a post on Twitter on Thursday, the 33-year-old Today Extra host said she was unable to source any baby Panadol in her area, branding it ‘absurd’.

‘My sister had to post baby Panadol to me from Brisbane because there was none to be found in my area or online. This is so far beyond absurd,’ she wrote.

Her tweet was in response to fellow TV reporter Zoe Daniel, who said parents were having to drive for hours just to source nappies.

‘Guys, we are now in a situation where people cannot find nappies for their babies,’ the ABC news correspondent tweeted on Thursday.

‘People are driving 4-5 hours around their cities trying to find nappies and wipes. This #Hoarding has to [stop emoji].’

Earlier on Thursday, Sylvia enjoyed a playdate with fellow new mum and TV reporter, Jayne Azzopardi.

But she revealed it wasn’t your usual playdate, with the coronavirus forcing them to keep their distance.

‘Joey and Oscar’s first park date. No hugs, no worries. We still felt the love from 1.5m away,’ she captioned a photo of the two mums beaming with their babies.

In a post on Instagram on Tuesday, Sylvia admitted it was a terrifying time to be a new mother with so much uncertainty in the world.

‘While it’s a good time to be living in a little bubble with nowhere to go, I’m conscious of the confusion and anxiety that many new mums might be feeling right now…’ she wrote.

‘So I just wanted to send some love and virtual hugs to other mamas out there who might be feeling extra isolated.’
