Coronation Street: Fans vent their fury as Ken Barlow reveals plans to ABANDON his pet pooch Eccles to live in a retirement home

He’s just days away from saying goodbye to Weatherfield for a new life in a retirement home.

But Coronation Street fans have been venting their fury on social media, as it was revealed that Ken Barlow is planning to leave his beloved dog Eccles.

Viewers took to Twitter to vent their frustration as it was revealed that Ken wouldn’t be bringing his pet pooch to the Still Waters home, where he is planning to move with partner Claudia Colby.

What? Coronation Street fans have been venting their fury on social media, as it was revealed that Ken Barlow is planning to leave his beloved dog Eccles

During Wednesday’s show, Ken (played by William Roache) remained conflicted about the prospect of living in a retirement home, after it was first confirmed he’d be leaving the cobbles last month.

The soap veteran struggled to confide in Claudia (Rula Lensky), who is thrilled about their new living arrangements.

But in a tragic twist, it seemed that Ken would have to leave his beloved pet terrier Eccles, who has been a staple on the Street for many years.

Of course it’s likely that the pooch will still be cared for by one of the Barlow clan, but that didn’t stop fans taking to Twitter to vent their fury.
