Tessa Thompson CONFIRMS Michael B. Jordan will make directorial debut helming Creed III next year

Following rumors, Tessa Thompson has officially confirmed that her Creed leading man Michael B. Jordan will make his directorial debut helming Creed III next year.

The 37-year-old Westworld stunner said she plans on giving the 33-year-old Emmy-nominated producer ‘a lot of crap about’ becoming People’s Sexiest Man Alive a month ago.

‘He is directing the next Creed. It’s going to be ammo, I think, for me, when he is engaging with me as a director,’ Tessa told MTV News last Wednesday.

‘I’m just going to tell him to dial down the sexiness. But we’re not gonna make it until later in the year. So who knows what happens? Another man will be – I don’t know if he will still be the Sexiest Man Alive in six months.’

Thompson is excited to reprise her role as Bianca, the fiancée of heavyweight boxer Adonis ‘Donnie’ Creed (Jordan), and the mother of his daughter Amara.

Michael will not only star and take over directing duties from Steven Caple Jr., but he’ll pull triple duty executive producing the ninth Rocky installment.

‘I promised Michael B. Jordan that he’d get his chance to direct Creed III,’ producer Irwin Winkler previously wrote in Life in Movies, which was published back in May 2019.

‘Last year in a conversation with our Creed star Michael B. Jordan, I offered him the opportunity to not only star in, but also to direct Creed III.’

But it’s unclear at this point if three-time Oscar nominee Sylvester Stallone – who penned Creed II – will also return as boxer-turned-trainer Robert ‘Rocky’ Balboa, Sr.

The first Creed flick received glowing reviews and amassed $173.6M at the box office in 2015, and the Creed sequel earned good reviews and amassed $214.1M at the box office.

The SAG Award winner is currently hard at work filming actor-turned-director Denzel Washington’s absentee father drama Journal for Jordan for Sony Pictures.
