‘We are so disappointed’: The Wiggles are forced to cancel nine more Fun And Games Australian Tour dates amid the coronavirus pandemic

The Wiggles announced on Friday that they have been forced to cancel nine more Fun and Games Australian Tour dates, amid the coronavirus pandemic.

In a statement shared on their social media channels, the children’s entertainment group said they were ‘so disappointed’ with the news but are putting health and safety first.

It comes after Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison banned ‘non-essential gatherings’ of over 100 people on Wednesday, in a bid to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

They added: ‘We are so disappointed we will not be able to bring our show to you at this time and we truly appreciate your understanding that we are striving to do what is best and safest for everyone.’

They recently were forced to cancel tour dates in Queensland, from April 5-19 and previously had to postpone a bunch of shows in Sydney which were scheduled for March 14-31.

On Friday, Blue Wiggle Anthony Field told The Daily Telegraph that the children’s musical group planned on tackling the crisis with live streaming.

‘With the current situation around the world, we are looking at different ways of bringing our shows to audience, and live streaming seems to be a perfect solution,’ the 56-year-old said.

‘It helps people who are staying at home to still be part of a Wiggles live event, even if that live event is coming from our studio,’ he added.
