Mark your calendars! The Voice Australia announces its premiere date – as a new trailer teases an exciting series with impressive talent

Teaser trailers for The Voice Australia have been giving viewers glimpses of the gifted singers set to be discovered this season.

And fans will finally be able to watch the new generation of stars when the talent show premieres on August 8 at 7pm on Channel Seven, after the Tokyo Olympics. 

The celebrity coaches Rita Ora, Jessica Mauboy, Keith Urban and Guy Sebastian will kick off the season by picking their teams during the Blinds.

British songstress Rita is hoping to hear something special that will make her spin her chair around.

‘When I get that tingling feeling, I know something special is about to happen,’ she said.

Aussie pop star Jessica Mauboy added: ‘That’s the most magical part.’

Guy, who is returning for a third season on the coaching panel, said: ‘I’m listening for a voice that leaves me no choice but to turn my chair.’

One of the singers set to perform at the Blinds is Mick ‘The Mower Man’ Harrington, who stuns with his rendition of Judy Garland’s Somewhere Over the Rainbow.

Returning to her hosting post is Sonia Kruger, who presented the talent show during its tenure on Channel Nine from 2015 to 2019. 

Seven acquired the rights to The Voice after Nine failed to renew its contract last year after nine seasons.

Seven also recently announced a spin-off series called The Voice Generations.

The ‘world-first twist’ will incorporate singers and musicians from different generations – such as families, siblings and cousins – to perform together on stage and contend for ‘Voice glory’.
